Trusted policy expert, pastor, and community builder joins the team to bring practical leadership to Ward 4
CALGARY — Communities First is proud to announce Jeremy Wong as its candidate for Ward 4 in the upcoming Calgary municipal election. A lifelong Calgarian and experienced public servant, Jeremy brings a strong record of leadership and a passion for service that reflects the values and priorities of Ward 4 residents.
Jeremy lives in Edgemont with his wife, Janice, and their two young children. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Calgary, and has spent over 15 years working in provincial and municipal government, non-profit leadership, and as a community pastor in Beddington. His focus has always been on practical, common-sense solutions that support families and build stronger neighbourhoods.
“I’m running to bring a voice of reason and real results to Council,” said Wong. “Ward 4 residents want to see their tax dollars respected, their streets made safer, and their City Hall focused on the basics, and that’s what I’ll fight for. I’m proud to stand with Communities First because we’re committed to delivering common-sense leadership that listens to Calgarians.”
Wong joins a growing team of Communities First candidates working together to rebuild trust in City Hall and deliver real change. Communities First Mayoral Candidate Sonya Sharp said Jeremy is exactly the kind of leader Calgary needs.
“Jeremy Wong brings heart, smarts, and humility to the table, and I can’t wait to work alongside him,” said Sharp. “He understands policy, he listens to people, and he cares deeply about doing what’s right. With his track record of service and real-world experience, Ward 4 is in very good hands.”
Communities First Ward 8 candidate Cornelia Wiebe says Jeremy is a welcome addition to a team built around shared values and community-driven leadership.
“Jeremy’s experience in policy, government, and community service speaks for itself,” said Wiebe. “But what truly sets him apart is his grounded, compassionate approach. He doesn’t just talk about public service — he lives it. We’re excited to have him on board.”
Jeremy Wong is running to represent the communities of Ward 4, including Beddington Heights, Brentwood, Cambrian Heights, Charleswood, Collingwood, Dalhousie, Edgemont, Greenview, Highland Park, Highwood, Huntington Hills, North Haven, North Haven Upper, Queens Park Village, Rosemont, Thorncliffe and Winston Heights/Mountview. His campaign will focus on practical infrastructure investments, safer streets, and getting back to the basics of good governance.
